History
Established in 2002
Edge of Urge opened its doors in Wilmington, NC on July 4th, 2002 by clothing designer and visionary Jessie Williams. The store started out in a 400 square foot space filled with handmade clothing and accessories by Jess, as well as many other indie designers, and over the years Edge of Urge has evolved into two thriving businesses: Edge of Urge, the boutique and Edge of Urge, designs by Jessie Williams.
Meet the Business Owner: Jessie W.
If you were to see Jessie Williams in the street one day, you'd 1) note that she is put together pretty stylishly, 2) probably has a dog named Blue with her, and 3) really needs to get out of the street and onto the sidewalk! You might also note that for such a powerhouse, this talented lady is a soft-spoken one. But soft-spoken doesn't mean she doesn't have a voice (complete with slight southern drawl), and sometimes it comes out best through making clothes, drawing, putting things together, and just CREATING. Jessie truly shines when her creative cap is on (and feels alien-like when it's off) and everything she touches has a special taste of sweet + thoughtful mixed in
